The Little Dragons program is designed for students aged 4 to 6 years.

Class Structure and Curriculum

  • Little Dragons classes are specifically designed to accommodate the shorter attention span of younger students, lasting only 30 minutes.

  • The curriculum focuses on developing reaction training, eye-hand coordination, listening skills, and a simplified martial arts curriculum.

Ranking System

  • Little Dragons follow a unique ranking system separate from students aged 7 and above.

  • Additional ranks within the Little Dragons program allow students to progress at a more manageable rate, providing them with ample time to develop their martial arts skills.

  • The colored stripes on the White Belt are specific to Little Dragons and fit within the standard ranking system between the White Belt and Gold Belt.

Progression and Transition

  • Not all Little Dragons are required to earn all the striped belts before progressing to a Gold Belt.

  • Early graduation from Little Dragons classes to Kid classes is based on the student’s comprehension of techniques and the instructor’s assessment of their readiness to move up to the next level.

What is a beginner's class expectation?

Starting a martial arts program may seem intimidating, but there’s no need to worry! A beginner’s class usually covers the fundamentals of the selected martial art, including basic strikes, blocks, and stances. The emphasis is on building essential skills that lay the groundwork for future training.

How can I prepare for my first martial arts class?

Before your first class, make sure to wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. Arrive at least 15 minutes early to introduce yourself to the instructor and fellow students. Remember to follow the class instructions and rules, and don’t hesitate to ask for help if you need it.

Is Martial Arts dangerous?

While every sport or activity carries some risk, our team of instructors adheres to strict safety protocols to create a safe and supportive environment for our students. We recognize that each student has unique limits and encourage rest and feedback during exercises.

What should I wear to class?

For your initial classes, wearing comfortable workout clothes such as a T-shirt and sweatpants or shorts is suitable. Once you decide to commit to a specific martial art, you’ll need to purchase the appropriate uniform and any necessary protective gear.

Can Martial Arts cause injury?

Due to our strong emphasis on safety and injury prevention, we’re proud to report that injuries are quite rare in our program. In fact, martial arts helps improve strength and flexibility, often resulting in fewer injuries in daily life.

How often should I attend classes to see progress?

Consistency is crucial for progress in martial arts. We recommend attending classes at least two times per week to build a strong foundation and continuously develop your skills.
